From a young age Sydney has always been fascinated with wildlife and the different Zoo's of the world, this fascination "came from being glued to the Animal Planet channel that my dad put on the TV when I was younger, especially The Big Cat Show," says Sydney.

In the summer of 2021, Sydney took a free course offered by National Geographic and a Masterclass on the basics of animal photography and she believes that she has improved a lot.
